Preparing For A New Adventure (Outer Journey)

In order to get ready to go to New Orleans, I had to plan a time to prepare. I have been having to take care of a sick family and worked forty plus hours. I had to arrange for a person to make sure to give my cat his medications before I leave. My cat currently has a very serious kidney infection. He takes an antibiotic twice a day and must wear a diaper. His kidney infection has caused a permanent incontinence. I had to make sure both of my jobs approved my time off. I had to barter with some of my coworkers to
take a couple of the unapproved shifts off. This was a very daunting task because it would have to be a reasonable trade. In order to get the days off I covered a few people for the Christmas week and the week before. In trade they took a few of my days at one of my jobs.
Another part of the preparation is planning when I should Pack. I do not own many clothes other than work uniforms. I set on a side quest for the journey to New Orleans. I went to the Northwoods Mall and Target to find new clothes. When looking into what clothes to buy I had to look at the average temperature for New Orleans this time of year. I did not want to get clothes that would be too warm or too cold. I should have set a limit on how much to spend. I spent two hundred dollars on clothes and a pair of shoes. I love the outfits and I will hopefully be able to also reuse them in the spring. I have yet to pack anything into the suitcase to prevent any wrinkles in the fabric.
There was one last thing that I thought would be the most important thing to do before I leave. I wanted first hand account of what the best thing in New Orleans was to do. I asked my favorite source, my mom. Café Du Monde was one of the first places she talked about. I love all kinds of food. She also said the horse carriage rides are fun. I do love horses and I think I may even feel like I was a princess.
After preparing for this experience, I hope that I prepared well for it.
